APPS: Files
Description
This function is specially designed so that the administrator of an Application can share files with the users of his application individually and privately.
This could be an excellent option for a multitude of cases, some examples could be:
- Management App
The App Administrator (The Management) could easily add all types of files (images, PDFs, videos, etc...) with the specific documentation of each of their clients, and clients could access from the App a private section for them where they would find all their documentation.
- Law Firm App
The App Administrator (The Law Firm) could easily add all types of files (images, PDFs, videos, etc...) with the specific documentation of each of their clients, and clients could access from the App a private section for them where they would find all their documentation.
- Personal Trainer App
The App Administrator (The Personal Trainer) could easily add all types of files (images, PDFs, videos, etc...) with the workouts, tables or exercises for each of their clients, and the clients could access from the App a private section for them where they would find their personalized workouts.
- Clinic App
The App Administrator (The Clinic) could easily add all types of files (images, PDFs, videos, etc...) with the History information of each of their clients, and clients could access from the App a private section for them where they would find their Clinical History.
Characteristics
- The App administrator will be able to share files with a specific user.
- The administrator can also enable or disable a user.
- If the administrator deactivates the user, then the user will not be able to access the files.
- When the administrator creates a file for a specific user, the user receives an email notification or a Push notification informing them of the upload of a new file for them.
How to add this feature
To add this feature to your application go to step "FUNCTIONS" from the builder and click on the " iconFiles":
Once the function has been added, you must give it a name and, if you wish, customize the icon by clicking on it:
Configuration
Below you will find 5 configuration tabs:
Users tab
In this tab, you can see the list of all users who are registered in the application and you can easily activate or deactivate access for each of the users to this Files section.
States:
- Activated: This means that the user will have access to view files that have been uploaded for them in this section.
- Disabled: This means that the user will NOT have access to view files that have been uploaded for them in this section.
From here we will jump to the "Settings" tab
Settings tab
In this tab we will have to complete the following information:
- Are new users enabled by default?
By default, all users have the Files section disabled. If you want users, after registering in the App, to have access to this section by default, then you must check the YES option
Next we will have to create the different types of files that we are going to upload so that the user knows what type of file it is:
- File type name: Here we must name the file type (Example: JPG, PNG, PDF, MP3, MP4,...)
- File type icon: Here we must upload a representative image of that type of file that we have defined.
You can add as many types of files as you want.
Next we will go to the Files tab
Files Tab
From this tab you can create Folders and upload files for each user.
To begin, you must select the user to whom you want to upload files in their private area from the drop-down menu and press the blue "Manage" button.
Then, in the Folder List section, click on the blue "Add a Folder" button
Next, a pop-up window will appear in which you must name that Folder, then press the "Save" button
Then, once the Folder is created, we will go to the File List section, click on the "Filter by folder" drop-down menu,We will choose the folder in which we want to upload files and press the blue button "Upload a File"
When you press the "Upload a File" button, a pop-up window will appear in which we must complete the following information:
1- Select file: By clicking on the "Select file" button we will load the file we want from our computer.
2- File Title: Here we will place the title we want to give to that file.
3- Select Folder: Here we will choose in which folder we want to upload the File.
4- Select File Type: Here we will choose the type of file that we are going to upload. (We will have previously configured the file types in the Settings tab)

To finish, we will press the "Save" button and you will see that the loaded file is shown:
Notifications Tab
From this tab you can configure Push notifications and/or emails to notify users when their private space is enabled or when a new file is uploaded to their private space:
Background Tab
From this tab you can place a background image for this section of the App in the indicated image sizes:
