In this article, we will guide you step by step through the process of publishing your application on the App Store.
The process consists of 3 steps:
Now let's go through each step one by one, but before we proceed, you need to be aware of 2 prerequisites for app publication on the App Store:
Next, choose the App Store publication option, fill in the developer account details where we should publish the app, and select whether you want us to automatically take the necessary screenshots for the App Store:
In order for our team to publish your app, we need to access the developer account and perform two-factor verification. This means that when we go to publish, our phone number needs to be authorized as a trusted number so that we can receive the verification SMS code.
• Next, you need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and sign in with the Apple ID linked to the developer account you are going to use (either yours or your client's if you are a reseller or partner).
• Once inside, click on Account Security.
• Click on the + symbol to add a trusted phone number.
• In the next window, enter the phone number you received in the confirmation email we sent you after requesting the publication, and select SMS verification. Then, it will ask you for a security code received via SMS on our phone number.
• To obtain that security code, open another tab and go to https://otp.scoreapps.com/. Refresh the page until you see the Apple message with the security code that you need to enter.
• Enter the code in the Apple window, and our number will be registered as a trusted phone.
Once you receive the email notifying you that the build of your app has been uploaded to the App Store, you need to go to App Store Connect to complete the information for your application and request a review from the Apple team.
• In order to request the app review from Apple, we need to complete several sections with information about the app.
• If you selected the option for automatic screenshots during the publication request, our team will have uploaded the necessary screenshots (only screenshots for 6.5", 5.5", and iPad are mandatory, with at least 3 screenshots for each device). If you chose the manual option, you will need to upload them yourself.
• Next, you should complete the app description, a promotional text, keywords to help position your app in the App Store, a support address for your users, and a marketing address (which can be your website).
• Scroll down to the "Build" section, click on "Add Build," and select the build that our team has uploaded to your App Store Connect account. Ignore the "Missing Export Compliance Information" message for now and click "Accept."
• Now, click on "Manage Export Compliance Information," and in the window that appears, select the option "None of the above" algorithms.
• Now we will complete the section for App Review Information. If your app includes any features that require user registration (such as Sign Up, Pro Registration, Pro Reservations, Social Wall, etc.), we need to provide Apple with a user account so they can log in and test the app. To do this, check the box for "Sign-in required" and provide a username and password. In the Contact Information, enter the details of the person who should be contacted by Apple if they need more information or if the app is rejected for any reason. Finally, in the Notes section, you can leave any message for the Review team or even attach a relevant file that you believe is important for the app's approval. For example, you could attach the company's tax identification number or a trademark registration. This step is optional.
• Scroll down a bit further, and in the Version Release section, choose the option "Automatically release this version."
• Click on Save (at the top of the page) before moving on to the next step.
• Now, we will go to complete the "App Information" section. Select the category to which you want your app to belong. Then, click on "Set Up Content Rights Information," and in the pop-up window, select "No, it does not contain third-party content or services."
• Next, click on "Set Rating for All Platforms," and in the subsequent pop-up windows, select "None" for all the Content Descriptions options. Then, indicate that the app does not contain unrestricted web access or instances of gambling.
• In the "Rating Summary (3 of 3)" section, we will not check any of the two advanced options.
• Click on Save and then proceed to the next section called "Pricing and Availability".
• First, click on Add Pricing and leave all prices at 0 euros if you don't plan to charge for each app download.
• Next, go to Set Up Availability and leave all countries selected if you don't want to exclude your app from any specific region.
• We have now completed the Pricing and Availability section. Next, we will go to the App Privacy section. Click on Edit App Privacy and add the URL of your privacy policy. If your company doesn't have its own privacy policy link, you can use this generic one: https://apps.nocode-builder.com/application/privacypolicy/index/id/61e59e5518ae7
• Now, we will inform Apple about the app's data collection practices. Click on Get Started.
• Indicate that "Yes, we collect data" and in the next window, select Name, Email Address, and Phone under the Data Linked to You option. For Location, select both Precise and Approximate Location.
• Now, we will provide the information about Name, Email Address, and Phone. In all three cases, the answers will be the same:
• Now, we will repeat the same process for the Email Address field.
• Next, we will do the same for the Phone Number field.
• Now, let's configure the Precise Location.
• And finally, let's configure the Approximate Location.
• We have completed all the necessary information for the publication. We can go back to the "Prepare for Submission" section and click on "Add for Review" and then "Submit for App Review".
Now, Apple's Review team will analyze the app (within approximately 24-48 hours) and they will contact you if they determine that any changes need to be made.
Scoreapps simplifies app development through a no-code platform, but we are not responsible for the approval or rejection of applications submitted to the App Store. In this article, you can find tips and requirements to help your app get approved. If your app is not approved, please refer to another article where we explain the main reasons for rejection and provide guidelines to address them.
