To connect an Instagram account in the Social Media section, it is important to note that the connection is made through Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram.
Therefore, even if you are trying to connect Instagram, it is normal for a Facebook screen to appear during the process or for you to be asked to log in with your Facebook account. This does not mean you are only connecting Facebook: it is the authorization system that Meta uses to allow external tools to publish or manage content on Instagram.
Before attempting to connect your account, ensure these requirements are met:
Your Instagram account must be a professional account.
It can be a business account.
Or it can be a creator account.
Personal Instagram accounts do not always allow this type of integration.
The Instagram account must be connected to a Facebook Page.
Having a personal Facebook profile is not enough.
Instagram must be associated with a specific Facebook Page.
It is also not enough for Facebook and Instagram to be linked in Meta's Account Center.
You must log in with the correct Facebook profile.
It must be the profile that has admin or management permissions over the Facebook Page connected to that Instagram.
If you log in with a different Facebook, Meta may not show you the Instagram account or may give an error during the connection.
You must accept the permissions requested by Meta.
During the connection, Meta may request permissions to access pages, Instagram accounts, or publish content.
If any necessary permission is unchecked or denied, the connection may be incomplete.
From the Instagram app:
Open Instagram.
Go to your profile.
Tap the three-line menu.
Enter Settings and Privacy.
Look for the Account Type and Tools or Professional Tools and Controls section.
Check if your account appears as professional.
If it is still a personal account, select Switch to Professional Account.
Choose whether to set it up as a business or creator account.
Once this step is completed, your Instagram account will be ready to connect with external tools compatible with Meta.
For the integration to work correctly, your Instagram must be connected to a Facebook Page.
You can check this from Instagram:
Open Instagram.
Go to your profile.
Tap Edit Profile.
Look for the public business information or professional profile section.
Check if a Facebook Page is connected.
If none appears, select the option to connect or create a Facebook Page.
You can also check it from Meta Business Suite:
Enter Meta Business Suite.
Select the correct business or Page.
Go to Settings.
Enter Accounts.
Check the Pages and Instagram Accounts section.
Ensure the Instagram account is linked to the correct Facebook Page.
This point is important: the integration is not done directly with a personal Facebook profile, but with the Facebook Page associated with the professional Instagram account.
If the Instagram account belongs to a business or is within a Meta Business portfolio, ensure your user has sufficient permissions.
From Meta Business Suite or business settings:
Enter the business settings.
Go to People or Users.
Select your user.
Check that you have access to:
The Facebook Page.
The Instagram account.
If you do not have sufficient permissions, ask the business administrator to grant you full access or management permissions.
If you do not have permissions over the Page or the Instagram account, Meta may prevent the connection even if you know the Instagram or Facebook passwords.
Once you have reviewed the previous steps:
Return to Scoreapps.
Enter the Social Media section.
Select the option to connect Instagram.
When the Meta/Facebook window opens, log in with the Facebook profile that manages the Page connected to your Instagram.
Select the correct Facebook Page.
Select the associated Instagram account.
Accept all necessary permissions.
Complete the connection.
If everything is correctly configured, the Instagram account should be linked and available to create or schedule posts.
If Meta shows an error when connecting Instagram, it is usually due to one of these reasons:
The Instagram account is still personal and not professional.
Instagram is not connected to a Facebook Page.
You are logging in with a Facebook that does not manage that Page.
The Facebook Page is in another portfolio or Meta business account.
You do not have sufficient permissions over the Page or the Instagram account.
A necessary permission was denied during authorization.
There is an existing incomplete or expired connection.
In that case, we recommend:
Reviewing again that Instagram is a professional account.
Confirming that Instagram is linked to the correct Facebook Page.
Checking that you are using the Facebook administrator of that Page.
Logging out of Facebook and logging back in with the correct user.
Attempting the connection from a private or incognito window to prevent Meta from using another open session.
Repeating the process from Scoreapps.
If the problem persists, send us a screenshot of the exact message Meta/Facebook shows during the connection. With that screenshot, we can identify if the issue is related to permissions, account type, unassociated Page, or incomplete authorization.
If you are a partner, agency, or manage social media for multiple clients, you may need to connect more than one TikTok account in Scoreapps.
In some cases, when trying to connect a new TikTok account, the system may always show the previous account or not allow you to select a different account. This usually happens because TikTok keeps the session open in the browser and automatically reuses the account that is already logged in.
That is, even if you are trying to connect a second account, TikTok may be authorizing the account that was already open again.
The connection with TikTok is made through an external TikTok authorization. During this process, TikTok checks which account is logged in on that browser and requests permission to connect that account with Scoreapps.
Therefore, if you already have a TikTok account open in the browser, TikTok may directly use that session and not show you the option to log in with another account.
This is especially important for agencies or partners working with multiple client accounts.
If you want to connect a different TikTok account, follow these steps:
Open a new browser tab.
Go to tiktok.com.
Check which TikTok account is logged in.
Log out of TikTok.
Return to Scoreapps.
Enter the Social Media section.
Select the option to connect TikTok.
When TikTok asks you to log in, enter the details of the TikTok account you want to connect.
Accept the permissions requested by TikTok.
Complete the connection.
Once the process is completed, Scoreapps should be connected with the newly authorized TikTok account.
If you manage accounts for multiple clients, we recommend following this procedure each time you want to connect a different TikTok account:
Log out of TikTok before starting a new connection.
Ensure you log in with the correct client's account.
Verify the TikTok username before accepting the permissions.
Do not authorize the connection if TikTok shows a different account than the one you want to connect.
This helps avoid connecting the wrong account by mistake.
If TikTok continues to detect the previous account, you can make the connection from a private or incognito browser window.
To do this:
Open a private or incognito window.
Access Scoreapps.
Log in to your Scoreapps account.
Go to Social Media.
Connect TikTok.
Log in to TikTok with the correct account.
Accept the permissions.
This option is usually helpful when the browser retains sessions, cookies, or access data from a previous account.
If after logging out or using a private window TikTok still connects the wrong account, check the following:
That you have logged out correctly on tiktok.com.
That you do not have another tab open with an active TikTok session.
That you are entering the access data of the correct account.
That the browser is not auto-completing another saved account.
That you are not accepting the authorization without first reviewing the TikTok user shown on the screen.
If the problem persists, remove the previous connection from Scoreapps, log out of TikTok, open a private window, and repeat the connection process from scratch.
Before accepting TikTok permissions, always check which user appears on the authorization screen.
If the incorrect user appears, do not continue. Log out of TikTok and repeat the process with the correct account.
